A Saturday house fire in the Pleasant Highland neighborhood caused $73,800 in damage, the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office reported. The two-alarm fire was reported at 4:26 p.m. at 14114 N.E. 72nd Ave.

Deputy Fire Marshal Susan Anderson said two dogs died in the fire and the blaze displaced four adults.

She put the loss at $44,600 to the house and $29,200 to its contents. She said the house is not inhabitable.

The fire started in a first-floor bedroom, Anderson said, but the cause was still under investigation on Sunday.

The Vancouver Fire Department responded, as did Clark County Fire & Rescue, Fire District 6 and Fire District 3.

The owner of the house is listed in county property records as Linda Fox. The house was built in 1940.
