Lyn Angelo, chairman of the McClaskey Family Foundation, presented a check for $26,000 on July 19 to Cheri Martin, executive director of the Parks Foundation of Clark County.

The donation was the first of a five-year, $26,000-a-year commitment from the McClaskey Foundation, according to a Wednesday news release.

The money will support summer playground programs.

Dave Perlick, recreation services manager for Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation, said more families have been using the playground program this year.

“We have also seen community members come out to help support these programs by volunteering, helping children walk safely to the site and just keeping a closer eye on the parks to make sure equipment doesn’t get damaged,” Perlick said.
