France’s Gallopin wins the San Sebastian classic

SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain (AP) — French cyclist Tony Gallopin won the one-day San Sebastian classic on Saturday.

The 25-year-old Gallopin, riding for Radioshack-Leopard, completed the mountainous race in 5 hours, 39 minutes, 2 seconds.

The 144-mile race started and finished in the northern coastal city of San Sebastian after passing through two category-one and three category-two summit climbs.

Spaniard Alejandro Valverde of Movistar and Czech rider Roman Kreuziger of Saxobank both crossed the finish line next, 28 seconds behind the winner.
