NEW YORK (AP) — Defending champion Connecticut will face Duke in the women’s Jimmy V Classic that honors the former N.C. State men’s coach.

The game will be played Dec. 17 at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Huskies, who won their eighth national championship in April, beat Maryland in last season’s game. UConn returns most of that team, including sensational freshman Breanna Stewart — who was the most outstanding player of the NCAA tournament.

The Blue Devils are led by point guard Chelsea Gray and center Elizabeth Williams.

In the men’s classic the same day, Pittsburgh will play Cincinnati and Florida takes on Memphis at Madison Square Garden.

ESPN says it set a fundraising record by generating $1.6 million in contributions last season during its sixth annual Jimmy V Week.
