Pets of the week: Humane Society for Southwest Washington

Published: June 6, 2013, 5:00pm

Meet Kitty Wowza! She came here when her previous family could no longer care for her. She has lived with other cats and with young children, and was pretty agreeable with them. She’s had a major life change by coming here though, so bring your kids in to meet her and also give her a slow introduction to your house and any other cats at home.

Tanner is a 1.5-year-old American pit bull terrier mix who came to the shelter as a stray. Tanner is a sweet but active boy, so he will need to be walked on a regular basis. Tanner will need to be the only pet in the home at this time. He will also need to go to a home with older children, and a yard with a 6-foot wood fence to keep him safe.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. The Humane Society is closed to the public on Mondays. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
