TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Offensive tackle Gabe Carimi has passed a physical with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, completing a trade that brought him to the team from the Chicago Bears.

The teams agreed to the deal involving the former first-round draft pick on Sunday, pending a physical. Carimi joined the Bucs on Monday and is expected to participate in a mandatory minicamp that begins Tuesday.

Carimi won the Outland Trophy as a senior at Wisconsin, but failed to play up to expectations the Bears had for him as the 29th overall pick in the 2011 draft.

Carimi started the first two games of his rookie year at right tackle before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He shifted to right guard last season, starting 10 games before losing the job to Jonathan Scott.
