Conservationist Gifford Pinchot III, grandson of the first chief of the Forest Service — for whom our nearby national forest is named — will give a short presentation as part of a June 22 fundraiser for the nonprofit Gifford Pinchot Task Force.

Gifford Pinchot III is an author and co-founder of the Bainbridge Graduate Institute, the first business school to offer a master’s degree in sustainable business. The Gifford Pinchot Task Force is a local environmental group that works on conservation, restoration and environmental policy.

Tickets are $50 each for the event, which is set for 5 to 9 p.m. June 22 at East Fork Cellars, 24415 N.E. 10th Ave., Ridgefield. Wine and seafood will be served; there will also be music and a silent auction.

Visit http://gptaskforce.org to learn more and purchase tickets.
