C Kevin Johnson leaves Seton Hall basketball team

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (AP) — Sophomore center Kevin Johnson is leaving Seton Hall.

Coach Kevin Willard announced late Tuesday evening that Johnson, of Compton, Calif. had been granted a full release by the university.

Johnson appeared in 21 games for the Pirates last season, averaging 2.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 8 minutes playing time.

“Kevin has decided to pursue other basketball opportunities,” Willard said in a statement. “We appreciate his contributions to our program and wish him much success in his future.”
