Rockies OF Gonzalez leaves game; hit on left leg

DENVER (AP) — Colorado Rockies left fielder Carlos Gonzalez has left Thursday’s game in the bottom of the first after getting hit in the lower left leg by a foul ball.

Gonzalez was on deck when Jordan Pacheco’s foul line drive struck Gonzalez near the ankle. He was attended to by a team trainer and was removed? from the game after walking around in front of the Colorado dugout.

He was replaced by Tyler Colvin, who stayed in the game in left field.

Gonzalez, the team’s lone All-Star player last season, is hitting .299 and leads the Rockies with 18 home runs and 52 RBIs. He has been bothered by soreness in his left knee the past week.
