ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira has left New York’s game against the Los Angeles Angels in the fourth inning.

Teixeira flied out to right and fouled out to third before leaving Saturday’s game. The Yankees didn’t immediately announce the reason for his departure.

David Adams replaced Teixeira at first base.

Teixeira is hitless in his last 12 at-bats. He is just 8 for 53 since coming off the disabled list May 31, including a 4-for-35 slump on the Yankees’ current road trip.

The $180 million slugger missed the Yankees’ first 53 games of the season with a torn sheath in his right wrist.
