NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans Pelicans general manager Dell Demps says he wants to maintain a “poker face” and give away as little as possible regarding his club’s intentions heading into Thursday night’s NBA Draft.

The Pelicans– formerly called the Hornets — hold the sixth overall pick and have no second-round choice this year.

Demps says he would entertain trade talks, but also says the Pelicans could have a successful draft even if they take a player who does not fill a glaring need and does not earn significant playing time as a rookie.

The Hornets have worked out only two players: Michigan guard Trey Burke and Syracuse guard Michael Cater-Williams. Demps says he’s also interviewed Maryland center Alex Len, Indiana guard Victor Oladipo, UNLV forward Anthony Bennett and Kansas guard Ben McLemore.
