Northern Kentucky downs Jacksonville 66-62

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) — Chad Jackson had 19 points on 6 of 7 from the field as Northern Kentucky defeated Jacksonville 66-62 Saturday night in an Atlantic Sun Conference game.

Ethan Faulkner scored 12 points for Northern Kentucky (11-15, 9-9), which had a 19-5 advantage in turnover margin.

Trailing 61-57, Ethan Faulkner’s 3-pointer got Northern Kentucky within 61-60 with 40 seconds left.

Anthony Monaco then hit a pair of free throws to put the Norse ahead 62-61 with 20 seconds to go.

After a pair of Jackson free throws extended Northern Kentucky’s lead to 64-61, Russell Powell made 1 of 2 free throws with 2 seconds left to make it a one-possession game, 64-62. Jacksonville was unable to score again as Eshaunte Jones made two free throws with one second left to seal the victory.

Keith McDougald led the Dolphins (14-17, 9-9) with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
