Morgan State defeats Maryland-Eastern Shore 58-45

BALTIMORE (AP) — Shaquille Duncan scored 17 points and Morgan State opened the second half with an 18-2 run en route to a 58-45 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Association game on Saturday.

DeWayne Jackson chipped in with 15 points and seven rebounds for the Bears (12-14, 8-6), who have won six of their past seven games.

Troy Snyder had 16 points and seven rebounds and Kevin Mays added 12 points for the Hawks (2-23, 2-12), who have 10 of the past 11 games.

It was close at halftime– Morgan State led 20-19 — as both teams shot badly. Morgan State was 7 of 27 from the field, and UMES was 6 of 22.

The Bears shot 55.2 percent in the second half (16 of 29), the Hawks 34.5 percent (10 of 29).

Morgan State outscored Maryland-Eastern Shore 34-18 in the paint and 12-2 off turnovers.
