SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Jordan Salley had 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds and Sacramento State snuck past Idaho State 53-52 on Saturday night.

Salley’s dunk with 2:40 to go gave Sacramento State (14-13, 8-10 Big Sky) a 53-46 lead but the Bengals made things interesting after Chris Hansen made a pair of free throws to cut the Hornets’ lead to four, 53-49, and Tomas Sanchez hit a 3-pointer to bring Idaho State within one, 53-52, with 1:10 to play.

Sanchez finished with 18 points, hitting five 3-pointers to go along with his five rebounds and five assists.

Idaho State (5-23, 4-14) had two chances at a win when Sanchez missed a shot with 23 seconds left from beyond the arc and Melvin Morgan just missed a jumper with 6 seconds left as Sacramento State held on for the win.

Dylan Garrity had 13 points and five assists for Idaho State, which shot only 36.2 percent from the field.
