Snohomish County authorities don’t believe that an 82-year-old man’s criminal past was the reason he was stabbed to death.

Prosecutors think Arthur Schroeder was killed during a robbery in his Marysville trailer.

Prosecutors charged two people Friday with second-degree murder in connection with the Jan. 24 killing.

Prosecutors say Delaney Henry and Robert Kennedy told several people that they killed Schroeder in his small trailer. They also reportedly told people that they robbed Schroeder of about $200 and the key to a safety deposit box they believed held $20,000.

Schroeder was a convicted sex offender, but charging documents say there is no evidence that his prior convictions had any connection to his murder.
