A governor’s advisory group has scheduled a veterans’ town hall in Vancouver on Thursday, March 14.

The Governor’s Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee will hold the town hall from 6 to 8 p.m. at the 40 et 8 Chateau, 7607 N.E. 26th Ave., in Hazel Dell.

Community partners will discuss how they are serving local veterans and their families. A volunteer service officer will answer questions about benefits.

Officials from the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center will be there to enroll veterans for VA health care; veterans should bring extra copies of their military discharges.

The 17-member committee advises Gov. Jay Inslee and the director of the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs on issues and programs concerning veterans.
