South Dakota State drops IUPUI 66-49

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Nate Wolters scored 20 points, Tony Fiegen had a double-double and No. 1-seeded South Dakota State advanced to the second round of the Summit League tournament with a 66-49 win over eighth-seeded IUPUI on Saturday night.

Fiegen had 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds and the Jackrabbits (23-9) shot 60 percent from the field in the second half.

South Dakota State led 31-27 at halftime and used a 22-12 run to begin the second half sparked by Wolters, who scored nine of his 20 points during the run to help put the Jaguars away for good.

Jordan Dykstra added 15 points and six rebounds for the Jackrabbits, which committed only three turnovers.

Mitchell Patton led IUPUI (6-26) with 17 points and Donovan Gibbs had 10 points and nine rebounds.

South Dakota State will play Monday against the winner of No. 4 Oakland and No. 5 IPFW/ The two play Sunday in first round action.
