LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland (AP) — Lara Gut of Switzerland was fastest in a training run for the season’s last World Cup downhill.

Overall champion Tina Maze of Slovenia will attempt to overtake Lindsey Vonn for the discipline title. She missed a gate in training on Monday.

Maze, who can complete a sweep of World Cup titles this week, must finish in the top 15 on Wednesday to overtake Vonn. The five-time defending downhill champion sustained a season-ending injury last month.

With 100 points awarded for a race win, Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany and Stacey Cook of the United States also can win the season-long downhill title.

Gut clocked 1 minute, 35.49 seconds on the bumpy Silvano Beltrametti course, 0.98 seconds faster than Anna Fenninger of Austria.

Third-place Elisabeth Goergl of Austria trailed Gut by 1.02.
