FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a six-year contract with left tackle Sam Baker, bringing back another key play on a team that came up just short of the Super Bowl.

The deal with Baker was announced late Tuesday night. It was overshadowed by the big news of the day in Flowery Branch — tight end Tony Gonzalez has decided to come back for another season at age 37, after initially saying he was likely to retire.

But re-signing Baker was another of Atlanta’s top priorities heading into the offseason. He was a first-round pick in 2008 and has developed into a reliable blocker in front of quarterback Matt Ryan.

Terms of his deal haven’t been made available.
