NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Liberty have agreed to a deal with veteran forward Cheryl Ford.

The four-time All-Star spent seven seasons in Detroit under current Liberty coach Bill Laimbeer, averaging 10.8 points and 9.7 rebounds.

The 6-foot-3 Ford — who was on the Shock’s championship teams in 2003, ’06, ’08 — has not played in the WNBA since 2009, the team’s last season in Detroit before it was sold and moved to Tulsa.

Ford, who played in college for Louisiana Tech, is the daughter of former NBA star Karl Malone.
