KUOPIO, Finland (AP) — Austrian ski jumper Gregor Schlierenzauer won his second World Cup overall title with four races to spare after finishing fifth Tuesday.

Schlierenzauer rebounded from his worst performance this season — 15th at the Lahti Ski Games on Sunday — with jumps of 128.5 and 128 meters.

That gave him 1,381 points and an unassailable lead in the season standings. Norway’s Anders Bardal was next at 912.

Kamil Stoch of Poland won Tuesday’s jump with 268.1 points (135 and 129 meters). Daiki Ito of Japan was second and Severin Freund of Germany third.

Schlierenzauer’s first overall title was four years ago. He has won eight times this season, and enjoyed six more top-three finishes. He surpassed Finnish great Matti Nykaenen’s record of 46 World Cup wins this season, and has 48.
