INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis is continuing its free-agent spending spree by signing safety LaRon Landry to a four-year contract.

The Colts have now signed six free agents in less than 48 hours. The team confirmed the move late Wednesday night, but did not release terms of the deal.

Landry was a Pro Bowl selection last season with the New York Jets, his first season in the AFC. He started 79 of 80 games over the previous five seasons with the Washington Redskins.

Indy has made a concerted effort to upgrade the defense after switching from a traditional 4-3 scheme to coach Chuck Pagano’s preferred 3-4 front last season.

The Colts singed linebackers Erik Walden and Lawrence Sidbury and cornerback Greg Toler on Tuesday, less than two hours after the market officially opened.
