Three people were treated at a hospital after their Subaru Outback went off the road, severed a power pole and rolled onto its top Wednesday evening just north of La Center.

Clark County Fire & Rescue was dispatched to Northwest 29th Avenue and 379th Street at 5:06 p.m. The Subaru was heading south on Northwest 29th Avenue when it went off the road, striking the power pole and rolling back onto the roadway, said Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy. The vehicle came to rest on its top.

All three occupants, two women and one man in their early 20s, suffered minor injuries in the single-vehicle collision and were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. They were transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

“Seat belts really made a difference in this accident. I think injuries would have been much greater if they weren’t properly wearing their seat belts,” Dawdy said.

Five Clark Public Utilities customers were affected by the downed power pole, according to the utility’s outage map.

The crash is under investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
