For the fourth consecutive year, Evergreen Public Schools has been awarded an Energy Star Partner of the Year Award by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The Sustained Excellence Award will be presented March 26 at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Since 2009, the school district has saved more than $7 million through strategic energy efficiency projects. The projects have ranged from the simple — efficient lighting — to the complex: a heating project recently completed at Wy’East Middle School, said Dave Cone, the district’s resource conservation manager.
