NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Justin Black scored seven of his 20 points in overtime, including the go-ahead 3-pointer, to lift Morgan State over Savannah State 64-61 Thursday night in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament.
Ian Chiles added 14 points, Anthony Hubbard scored 13 off the bench and Dewayne Jackson chipped in 11 for the fifth-seeded Bears (16-14), who have won seven straight games.
Fourth-seeded Savannah State (19-14) led 53-49 before Black, who went 6-of-12 shooting, sandwiched two 3-pointers around a Rashad Hassan dunk to send the game into overtime.
Deven Williams hit back-to-back 3s in OT to put Savannah State up 61-59 but Black answered with two free throws and then his go-ahead 3-pointer with 33 seconds left to seal it.
