Stephen F Austin tops Southeastern Louisiana 68-57

KATY, Texas (AP) — Antonio Bostic and Desmond Haymon scored 16 points each and Stephen F. Austin defeated Southeastern Louisiana 68-57 on Friday in the Southland Conference tournament semifinals.

The Lumberjacks (27-3), who with the victory passed their previous high for wins in a season set in 2007-08, will play the winner of the Northwestern State-Sam Houston State semifinal for the Southland championship on Saturday night.

Taylor Smith had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Hal Bateman contributed 11 points and five assists for Stephen F. Austin, the regular-season champion which has won six in a row since losing to Southeastern Louisiana 54-50 on Feb. 16 in Hammond, La.

Onochie Ochie scored 12 points for the Lions (13-18), the No. 4 seed. Dre Evans scored 11 points and Todd Nelson and Brandon Fortenberry scored 10 points apiece.
