The city of Issaquah says Costco is planning a major expansion of its corporate headquarters.

Keith Niven, city director of economic development, said the new space could create room for as many as 2,000 new workers.

Costco currently occupies three buildings that are full.

Niven says the city and Costco are attempting to complete permits for the expansion project by the end of the year.
