TACOMA — A woman arriving for work Monday at a child day care in Tacoma was severely beaten.

Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool says the victim has been unable to talk with detectives because of a concussion and possible broken jaw.

KOMO reports the man was waiting outside the Tender Heart Learnihng Center about 6:40 a.m. Monday when the worker arrived. He asked about enrolling a child, so she let him inside.

The beating was interrupted by another employee arriving for work. The attacker fled on foot.

Police are looking for the man, described as about 5-foot-6 with a very narrow face and short afro.
