Woodland police are asking help in identifying a man suspected of stealing a purse earlier this month at the Woodland Walmart store.

Sgt. Robb Lipp said the man entered the store at about 12:30 p.m. March 2 with a woman and a child. He left the two and pretended to shop. He later grabbed a purse from a woman’s shopping cart. The woman discovered her purse gone and followed the man.

Police believe he put the purse in the trunk of a red two-door sedan, changed his appearance and later returned to the car. The woman and child came out later and the three drove away.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Brent Murray or Sgt. Lipp at 360-225-6965 or 360-225-8981.
