SEATTLE — Boeing technical workers have overwhelmingly approved a new four-year contract in a re-vote tallied Monday night.
In a Feb. 19 vote, the 7,200 workers had rejected the offer, which replace pensions with a 401 (k) retirement plan for new hires.
In that earlier vote, 15,500 Boeing engineers represented by the same union had voted to accept a contract offer with the same pension provision.
While engineers and technical workers bargain at the same time, the contracts are separate and independent agreements.
A Boeing spokesman said the company was pleased with the technical workers’ decision.
