Letter: Put politicians on minimum wage

The Columbian
Published: March 19, 2013, 5:00pm

I was reading that many of Washington’s Democrats and Republicans agree on a 10 cent gas tax increase and a proposed increase in car and truck tags. Let’s put these lawmakers at minimum wages and take away their overpaid paychecks and see if they will vote in more tax increases. Let’s hear what they have to say about that. Put every state employee at minimum wage and see how many vote for the tax increase.

And do the same with the senators, representatives and lawmakers in Congress, let’s see if they can make it on minimum wage for the next four to five years. See how they vote then.

You can bet that won’t happen. They wouldn’t know what to do.
