Students recognized for artistic merit in regional show

Meadow Homes — Standout art pieces created by eleven Washington teens, including six from Clark County, won regional awards in the Educational Service District 112’s annual Southwest Washington Regional High School Art Show. This is the 40th year of the competition, which recognizes and promotes the work of imaginative high schoolers across Southwest Washington. The eleven artists who won regional awards will compete next month against other entries in the yearly State Superintendent of Public Instruction’s Art Show held in Olympia.

Clark County students who received individual regional awards include: Melinda Hurst and Tiffany Rhodes from Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, Hannah Lobnitz from Prairie High School, Trong Nguyen and Mckenzie Thompson from Fort Vancouver High School, Leila Stutesman from Heritage High School. Their artwork, as well as many more pieces entered in the Southwest Washington competition, are on display at the Educational Service District 112, 2500 N.E. 65th Ave.
