SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Three key players for the Diamondbacks left Tuesday night’s spring training game with injuries before Arizona scored seven runs in the eighth inning to beat the Los Angeles Angels 7-1.

Second baseman Aaron Hill was hit on the left pinkie by a pitch from Angels ace Jered Weaver, who gave up only two hits in seven scoreless innings. Diamondbacks shortstop Willie Bloomquist (right oblique strain) and left fielder Jason Kubel (left ankle discomfort) came out after the fourth.

Ian Kennedy was just about as sharp as Weaver. The right-hander struck out eight in 6 2-3 scoreless innings of two-hit ball for Arizona.

Both pitchers were making their final spring starts before their opening day assignments.
