An area nonprofit and a health club are teaming up with Kaiser Permanente to host screenings of HBO’s “The Weight of the Nation” documentary series.

Camas and Washougal on a Diet, a community weight-loss campaign, and Kaiser will host part 3 of the documentary, “Children in Crisis,” at 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 3 and 10 at LaCamas Swim & Sport health club, 2950 N.W. 38th Ave. in Camas.

Local cookbook author, blogger and speaker Chrisetta Mosley, a survivor of childhood obesity, will welcome attendees. Area physicians, public health experts and community groups will support the screenings with discussion and healthy living resources.

The “Children in Crisis” segment presents information about childhood obesity prevention, healthy food access (including schools lunch politics) and evidence of the growing rate of adult-onset diseases now being seen in children such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
