SIERRA NEVADA, Spain (AP) — Japanese teenager Yuuki Kadono won the men’s slopestyle Tuesday at the snowboard World Cup finals to also clinch the season-long discipline title.

Kadono earned 94 points in his second run to beat Maxence Parrot of Canada by 8 12 points and earn his first career podium finish. Billy Morgan of Britain finished third in the event, which was postponed last week because of fog and bad weather. The women’s event was canceled.

The 16-year-old Kadono says he “stomped every trick I wanted to” and that “took it aggressive as I wanted to pass the 90 points mark.”

With 1,000 points for the win, Kadono finished 140 points ahead of Sven Thorgren of Sweden in the discipline standings. Thorgren was ninth on Tuesday.
