TACOMA (AP) — A Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman says a 67-year-old Tacoma-area man has surrendered after an hours-long standoff with officers at his home. Officers responded to the neighborhood late Tuesday afternoon after reports that a man was walking around the area, shooting at homes.

Spokesman Ed Troyer says no one was injured.

Troyer says the man agreed to surrender after officers assured him his dogs would be cared for.

Officers earlier lobbed tear gas cannisters into the house.
