Letter: Bring baseball back to Portland

The Columbian
Published: March 28, 2013, 5:00pm

Here it is, the end of March. Spring is here once again with a few days over 60 degrees. Time for America’s pastime, right? Nope! Not in the city of Portland.

For the last three years, Portland has no minor league baseball team, where baseball had been played since the 1800s.

But we have the laughingstock losing Portland Timbers soccer team. How long will it take to replace the mistake that is the Portland Timbers?

I live for that day when the Portland Beavers reclaim PGE Park from the travesty it is now.
