AGADIR, Morocco (AP) — Marcel Siem of Germany shot a 2-under 70 to win the Hassan II Trophy by three strokes on Sunday.

He earned his third European Tour title with a 17-under 217. Siem held off Finland’s Mikko Ilonen and England’s David Horsey, who were tied for second.

The French Open champion was four shots ahead overnight but had a slow start with a bogey on the first hole. Three birdies from Siem and a mid-round slump from Ilonen gave him a decisive lead.

The 72nd-ranked Siem will wait for the results of the Houston Open to see if he’ll reach the top 50, which would earn him a first spot at the Masters.
