Henrietta Lacks topic of medical ethics talk

In preparation for opening Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School this fall, Evergreen Public Schools is continuing the discussion of Rebecca Skloot’s book, “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.”

The free, public event begins at 6:30 p.m. May 8 in the Community Room at the Cascade Park Community Library, 600 N.E. 136th Ave.

Based on questions that emerged in the first community discussion, Nicholas Kockler, Ph.D., M.S., a senior ethicist for Providence Center for Health Care Ethics, will address the ethics of informed consent regarding medical research with patient cells.
