U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, at left, listens to Larry Hoff, above, of Fibre Federal Credit Union during a homebuilding and construction industry roundtable Friday morning at the Grant House on Officers Row.

About a dozen local business people in the construction trades participated in a discussion of issues including inaccurate appraisals, a shortage of land for development, and cumbersome regulations. Hoff expressed his frustration with too much regulation in the industry.

“If we can get some of the anchors off our boats,” he said, “I think that gets that engine rolling.”
