Clark athletics: Penguins swept at Centralia

The Clark College baseball team was swept in an NWAACC West Region doubleheader at Centralia on Saturday, 4-3 and 15-12.

Details from the games have not been reported.

Clark (17-19, 8-10) will host Centralia (13-21, 8-10) in a 1 p.m. doubleheader today at Kindsfather Field.

SOFTBALL — The Clark softball team closed out its home schedule with a 16-0 loss to Southwestern Oregon on Saturday. Kat Vela had Clark’s only hit of the five-inning game.

TRACK AND FIELD — James Hunter placed third in the 110-meter hurdles at the Pacific Twilight meet in Forest Grove, Ore., with a time of 15.85 seconds. He was also part of Clark’s third-place 400-relay team along with Steven Spaude, Alin Resiga and Brandon Malmstadt. They posted a time of 44.58. The winning time of 41.26 by Spokane CC was a meet and stadium record.

Shawn Hughes placed third for Clark in the long jump (22 feet, 5 inches), and was fifth in the triple jump (43-6 1/2 ). Spencer Blanks was fifth in the high jump at 6-4 3/4 .
