NEW YORK (AP) — Junior Alvarado rode both $150,000 turf stakes winners Saturday at Belmont Park as Hessonite took the Beaugay for fillies and mares while Lubash won the Fort Marcy.

It was a big day for the two New York breds as they both captured a Grade 3 stakes.

Hessonite, a 5-year-old trained by David Donk, beat Peace Preserver by three-quarters of a length. She paid $9.90 to win for her 10th win in 19 starts.

Lubash, trained by Christophe Clement, prevailed by a half-length over Bombaguia. The gray 6-year-old gelding got his fourth win in 21 starts, paying $11.80 to win.
