Volcanoes run win streak to three games

The Vancouver Volcanoes increased their International Basketball League win streak to three games with a 131-93 victory Saturday over the Kitsap Admirals at the O’Connell Center.

Eight Volcanoes players scored in double figures, with two posting double-doubles.

Chehales Tapscott had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Paul Hafford had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Vancouver. Kevan West was the Volcanoes’ leading scoring with 21 points.

After a leading by just seven points at halftime, Vancouver blew the game open by outscoring Kitsap 40-19 in the third quarter. The Volcanoes led by as much as 40 points at 131-91.

Vancouver outrebounded the visitors from Bremerton 81-60 and held them to 36 percent shooting. The Volcanoes made 44.6 percent of their shots.

Vancouver (3-1) travels to Salem today to take on the Sabres (0-1).
