INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Defending champion Teddy’s Promise defeated Shumoos by 4 14 lengths to win the $70,000 Time to Leave Stakes for older fillies and mares at Betfair Hollywood Park on Sunday.

Ridden by Victor Espinoza, Teddy’s Promise ran 5 furlongs on Cushion Track in 56.80 seconds and paid $2.80, $2.20 and $2.10. Last year, she won the race by a half-length.

Teddy’s Promise was the morning line favorite for last weekend’s B. Thoughtful Stakes, but trainer Ron Ellis scratched her that morning because of a slight bruise on her left front hoof.

Shumoos returned $4 and $3, while Magical Band was another head back in third and paid $2.80 to show.
