JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have waived linebacker Greg Jones and running back Richard Murphy, clearing room to sign two tryout players from a three-day rookie minicamp.

The Jaguars signed defensive end J.D. Griggs and running back De’Leon Eskridge, undrafted rookies who made an impression on general manager Dave Caldwell and coach Gus Bradley.

Griggs attended Iowa and then Nassau (N.Y.) Community College before finishing his career at Akron. The 6-foot-5, 262-pound Griggs had 41 tackles and six sacks last season.

Eskridge began his college career at Minnesota before transferring to San Jose State. The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Eskridge ran for 1,060 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior. He also caught 28 passes for 156 yards. During his time with the Gophers, he had 1,670 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns.
