Letter: Volunteers assist community

The Columbian
Published: May 7, 2013, 5:00pm

Volunteerism is a great benefit to the county; it provides much financial relief to the community budget. Volunteer Connections (a Human Resources Council program) recorded over 80,471 hours of volunteer service in its last budget year, helping nonprofits in Clark County save approximately $1,781,628.

More recognition should be given for all the time and talents given to our community, so that many more can jump in and help out our county in this time of financial crisis.
