LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland has given wrestling’s governing body the go-ahead to hold a congress in Moscow despite a suit filed by the organization’s former president.

FILA president Raphael Martinetti resigned on Feb. 16, just days after the IOC recommended the sport be dropped from the Olympics in 2020. Martinetti later sued FILA in the CAS, asking it to nullify the election of acting president Nenad Lalovic and prevent FILA from meeting in Moscow on May 18.

CAS on Friday refused to invalidate Lalovic’s election and upheld FILA’s right to hold its congress. CAS also ruled that Martinetti should remain a member of the FILA bureau.

The Moscow meeting will help the sport shape its presentation to the IOC executive board on May 29.
