Final results for special election announced

After the April 23 special levy election in Battle Ground, the gap between the “yeas” and “nays” widened slightly as the final ballots were counted, according to the Clark County Elections Office.

In Battle Ground, the four-year maintenance and operations levy was approved by 56.28 percent, or 11,661 votes in favor to 9,057 votes opposed.

In the Green Mountain school district, the bond issue was approved by 57.66 percent, or 143 votes in favor to 105 votes opposed.

In La Center, the bond issue for the district’s sports field was defeated by 53.18 percent, or 1,303 votes against the measure to 1,147 in favor.
