A 75-year-old woman celebrating her birthday at Keo Thai Cuisine ended up crashing into the front of the restaurant about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Clark County Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy said.

Neither the woman, her passenger, nor the patrons inside were injured.

The woman, driving a 2001 Toyota Avalon, pulled into a parking space when her foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator, city of Battle Ground spokeswoman Bonnie Gilberti said. She reportedly hit a sign outside of the restaurant at 1800 S.W. Ninth Ave., which alerted customers, who scattered, Dawdy said.

The woman’s identity was not released. Police have not issued a citation, but are continuing their investigation.

The car went through the glass storefront. City building inspectors responded to the restaurant to assess the damage and determined it was structurally sound, Gilberti said. The restaurant is closed until further notice.
