Letter: Don’t tear down the bridge

The Columbian
Published: May 14, 2013, 5:00pm

If you have only two bridges going across the great Columbia River and you take one down and build a new one, you’ll still have only two bridges crossing the river.

This spring we had a terrible traffic jam that lasted for hours. We could do well with three bridges. My family and I celebrated my birthday at the Quay. My 6-year-old great grandson marveled at the bridge as we looked out the window. I told him the plan was to tear it down. His exact words were, “Don’t let them do that.” Those are my exact words, also.
